Kyanite Facts and Info

Kyanite is a blue mineral that has a pearly lustre and is made up of translucent to transparent crystals. Because of the way the crystals grow, it appears as if the stone is made up of hundreds of delicate blue fibres. A stone that is sometimes used in fine jewellery, green, white or even grey varieties of this crystal can be found in nature. It is believed by many to help protect the body from excessive radiation because the stone absorbs a lot of the surrounding radiation.

Because this is an uncommon and relatively valuable mineral, good samples of this stone are often hard to come by.
